Sweet Justice is focused on developing ‘localised vigour’ in our Queen bees, with the aim of making them more suited to the central Victorian regions and more versatile across Victoria and more broadly.
Our program selects natural traits that are best suited to Victoria’s seasons, such as honey production, ease of handling, resilience to environmental conditions and overall improvement in the health-related traits of the bees and hive hygiene.
Through our in-house nursery program and with the aid of artificial insemination techniques, Sweet Justice’s long-term goal is to bring greater diversity into our lines to better increase the longevity of our hives and ultimately the broader honey industry.
